Territorial conservation and hydrogeological risk as the main focus of the cultural and academic debateIngegneri Riuniti has always been active and present in bringing on the cultural debate about burning topical subjects connected to territorial conservation and hydrogeological risk. Engineer Marco Maglionico, who works for DICAM - University of Bologna (Department of Civil, Chemical, Environmental, and Materials Engineering) and regularly collaborates with our office, took part as a speaker in two important meetings, which took place on October 19th and November 4th respectively. The first meeting, "Leakage control in aqueduct networks through their division into districts and pressure control", was organized by the Centro Studi Sistemi Idrici (Research Centre for Water Systems) in collaboration with the Ordine degli Ingegneri of Bologna (Association of Engineers), and took place during the 2016 edition of H2O - International Water Exhibition, the most important fair in Italy in the sector of water services that focuses on technologies for drinking water treatment and distribution and wastewater disposal. The second event took place on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the flood of the Arno in Florence: the Firenze2016 Commission, the Italian Consortium of Universities for Hydrology (CINID) and the Italian Group of Hydraulic (GII) offered an opportunity to remember and learn more about that flood on November, 4th, 2016, through a series of workshops and round tables which were simultaneously coordinated and organized in various universities and research bodies on the whole national territory. Among those who took part in the workshop "A systemic approach for the mitigation of flood risk", that took place in Bologna, there were many officers from the Region of Emilia Romagna, the Po Basin Authority and Arpae. On this occasion, Engineer Maglionico's speech was connected to the hydraulic invariance of our territory.
