The call for tenders of the Province of Modena for the extension of the Pedemontana motorway has been publishedThe Province of Modena has published the call for tenders for the extension of the Pedemontana motorway in the section between Via S. Eusebio in Spilamberto and the provincial road 17 in Castelvetro. The project has been designed by Ingegneri Riuniti. The involved section of the Pedemontana motorway is almost two kilometres long; the total cost of the work is over nine million Euros, of which one million has been provided by the Province, taking into account the resources already used for the projects and the acquisition of the areas. From the design point of view, the problem of the intersection with via Belvedere has been solved with a roundabout with a cycle and pedestrian underpass that, in addition to having less impact on the environment, guarantees better access to the Pedemontana, especially by the business facilities in the area. The carriageway will have two lanes with side docks for a width of 10.50 metres; the project also consists in a bridge, which will be almost 40 metres long and 11.20 metres wide, over the Guerro stream, a roundabout on provincial road 17 with a diameter of 53 metres and two underpasses for agricultural vehicles. The works will start by mid-2019, once the tender procedures are completed, and will finish in the spring of 2021. The call for tenders is available on the website of the Province at this link.
