Earthquake adjustment works of the Barozzi Institute in Modena: announcement of the Call for Tenders The Province of Modena has recently published a call for tenders for the earthquake adjustment works of the Barozzi Institute in Modena (link). It is a first step with an investment of two and a half million Euros; in fact, this intervention will be followed by a second one, with a similar cost, which will also include the restructuring of the large auditorium in order to make it available also for public initiatives. As new regulations have come into force, all the expansion, restructuring and consolidation works were carried out by the Province with all the anti-seismic criteria required by law. The project by Ingegneri Riuniti involves the construction of an external exoskeleton consisting of 4 systems of bidirectional reinforced concrete structures, arranged adjacent to the fronts, appropriately connected to the already existing structure and able to absorb the horizontal actions of the body itself. The two systems placed on the long sides of the building are connected at the top by steel reticular elements in order to give it a frame-like behaviour. Moreover, the design choice comes from the need to keep the building operational during the works.
