The stretch of the first round of the project of the regional road 578 Rieti-Torano has been inauguratedOn January 28th 2016, in the presence of Nicola Zingaretti, president of Lazio, the stretch of the first round of the project of the regional road 578 Rieti-Torano was inaugurated and opened to the traffic. Ingegneri Riuniti is the leader of the Temporary Business Association which created the design and led the management of operations. The project is part of the so-called "Apennine Ridge", which is an important interregional longitudinal route of the secondary traffic stream, in support of the national infrastructure system; in fact it's expected to run from Terni through Rieti to Benevento, passing through Avezzano and Sora, intercepting the highway Rome-Aquila-Teramo and then (lastly) reaching the Salerno-Reggio Calabria highway. Ingegneri Riuniti is also part of the group responsible for the design of the stretch of the second extract (around 5.2 km) which will provide the connection of the section just opened with S.S. 4 Salaria. The final design of the second phase was delivered to the end of 2015.
