800 years after the disaster of Vallo di Nera (PG): history of an earthquake and considerations for the future Ingegneri Riuniti has had the pleasure to take part in the celebrations for the eight hundredth anniversary of the reconstruction of Vallo di Nera (Castrum Valli). Apart from being on the list of The most beautiful villages of Italy, this little village in the province of Perugia is well known for the devastation it suffered during the earthquake in 1979. Destroyed by the earthquake, Vallo di Nera was rebuilt with a special care for seismic improvement. The respect for earthquake regulations, the study of historical documents and the involvement of the population allowed this village to be born again and the interventions that took place that time protected the little town from the recent earthquake occurred on October, 26th-30th, 2016: as a matter of fact, despite being so near to the epicentres of the main tremors, the buildings did not suffer any damages. On September, 24th, Architect Elisabetta Ansaloni Zivieri spoke at the meeting on "Vallo 800: history, art and environment", and gave her contribution as far as restoration and post-earthquake adjustment in the village of the Valnerina valley, which she personally supervised together with Engineer Guidetti.
