GAMBRO DISTRIBUTION CENTER IN MEDOLLAOn July, 17th, 2014, our company asked for Gambro Dasco Spa Distribution Center in Medolla, a world's leading firm in the field of dialysis machines, to be declared usable. The building used as a shipping warehouse (approximately 6,000 square meters) and an automated warehouse with a capacity of 28,000 pallets had been severely damaged by the earthquake occurred on May, 20th and 29th, 2012. After a complex process of renovation and strengthening, the two buildings have been restored to their former use with evident and significant improvements as far as their layout, functionality and security. On September, 13th, the official ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the return to normal working activities. During the last two years, Ingegneri Riuniti carried out a significant work of technical and consulting assistance. In the first phase, we implemented safety, recovered engines and materials and carried out the structural diagnosis of the buildings; in the second phase, we carried out many integrated planning activities, as far as building and structural planning, plant engineering, procedural planning, work supervision, safety coordination and accounting management. Today, after more than two years from the earthquake, it is a great satisfaction for our company to see workers regaining possession of their working spaces and appreciating the new architectural configuration of the buildings and the plant efficiency.
