DEMOLITION OF "GALILEI" PROFESSIONAL SCHOOL IN MIRANDOLA: WORKS CONCLUDED

The demolition works of the "Galilei" Professional School in Mirandola, a school building in the province of Modena that was severely damaged by the earthquake occurred on May, 20th and 29th, 2012, have been concluded. Demolition procedures, which have been particularly complex and delicate due to the size of the building and the need to be careful not to damage an adjoining building, have been carried out by AEC COSTRUZIONI S.r.l, for a total amount of 340,000 euros, under the supervision and direction of many technicians from Ingegneri Riuniti Spa, especially trained in the field of structures. During the works, started on October, 7th, 2013 and ended on April, 14th, 2014, we had the opportunity to save the precious school files. Our demolition intervention on the building was planned in order to guarantee a well organized and timely execution of all the working phases according to the regulations in force about mitigation of polluting effects and waste disposal, as far as general demolition is concerned. Moreover, the planning and the organization of our intervention aimed at guaranteeing safety on the work site and on the adjacent areas for the whole duration of the works.
