The project involves the construction of a multifunctional building that brings together different types of functions through which an ambitious goal is achieved that AMIU GENOVA S.p.A. has pursued for years.
The proposed building houses changing rooms for staff, analysis laboratories and the "environmental education center" with conference room, administrative and executive offices, and is located within the disposal plant for non-hazardous waste of the City of Genoa located in Scarpino (GE), developed on a floor plan of 56,425 square meters.
The design developed by Engineers Meeting, for a total amount of work of about 4,500,000.00 euros, was of an integrated type and covered: architectural concept, environmental integration, structures, mechanical systems, water and sanitation, electrical installations, air conditioning and treatment system, special systems for flue gas expulsion, underground networks and outdoor accommodation.
The design choices were aimed at creating a building in energy class A, with extremely low consumption throughout the life cycle, and to ensure maximum indoor comfort both to operators and to the many visitors who expect. The building therefore wants to carve out the role of "business card" of Amiu Genova Spa, a body particularly attentive to the dynamics of environmental protection and prudent management of natural resources.
