Nursery School Gavoglio in Genoa

The present plan regards the requalification of a portion of the Ex Caserma Gavoglio of Genoa, framed in the within of the objectives and participations defined from Mission M4, Component C1, Investment 1.1 "Nursery and Kindergarten Plan and Early Childhood Education and Care Services" of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
The project involves the restoration and reuse of the existing structure in order not to distort the building that will host it, but rather to bring it back to its original conformation going to add to it an additional and important social function.

The project, in fact, was born from the goal of inserting a new kindergarten inside the former barracks, going to add to the new Birulò kindergarten, a project that is currently being built.

In order to follow the shape of the building, the entrance to the kindergarten will take place on the floor below compared to the rooms dedicated to the main function and inside it will also be obtained a room to accommodate the waste before their collection; It can also be used as storage for strollers and prams.

Once you reach the third floor, you can access the kindergarten through a fully glazed entrance that will guarantee fire resistance and the subdivision of the staircase.

Entering the kindergarten you will find yourself in the reception room, from which children will be sorted in the classrooms of competence divided as follows:

- 0-12 months "small section", sized for 15 children
- 12-24 months "medium section", sized for 15 children
- 24-36 months "large section", sized for 25/30 children

The sections are designed to be multifunctional spaces, which are complemented by additional spaces for laboratories, school staff and kitchen staff.

At the center of the services will be built the kitchen aimed at preparing meals and washing the material used according to the principle of the march forward.

The new flooring has been designed in vinyl wood effect, in order to ensure the durability and ease of cleaning and maintenance needed in environments such as those just described, but without losing the warmth and feeling of home that gives the wood.

The planned system is of the VRV type with direct gas expansion with refrigeration unit in Heat Pump located in a dedicated area next to the terrace.
